why are there so many cal king fitted sheets for sale on eBay? Where did the flat sheets go? I know in Europe, they often sleep with a bottom sheet and then a feather comforter in a duvet cover and no top sheet. Do a lot of people in the US do that too? This is madness.

But why even purchase them if you don't use them

with buttons? do you put buttons on one side? I had no idea all this was going on with flat sheets. NO IDEA! My eyes have been opened.

that, or little fabric "ties" across the bottom edge. buttons and button holes work too.

:) how do you keep the comforter from bunching up at the bottom of the duvet cover? Also, y'all are turning out to be highly European in your sleep habits.

store-bought duvet covers have velcro or ties in the corner...which you can easily ch in a sewing machine. you'll notice that un-covered duvets have little loops on the corners for this purpose.

I had no idea! I am learning so much. I have about half a dozen bed-in-a-bag comforters which are easily washable and I rotate those every few nights due to the dogs. A duvet and duvet cover might be a better idea. Hmmm...
