CHP: Man dies while fleeing traffic stop Authorities say a suspect died while fleeing a traffic stop and diving into a West Sacramento lake. The Sacramento Bee reports that a California Highway Patrol officer tried to stop x-year-old Stephen Oneil on Interstate x for speeding on a motorcycle Monday afternoon. According to the CHP, the Fremont man initially stopped but fled as the officer approached him. He eventually exited the freeway, parked his motorcycle and ran. Police dogs tracked his scent to Lake Washington a couple hours later, and officers found Oneil's body partially submerged. Authorities say he may have injured himself when diving into the water. Do you really think it was heartless for me to be glad that his actions only hurt himself and not other innocent people? Geez, I said I felt for his family. I guess having loved ones die on the road to to reckless people gives me a different perspective. He could have just pulled over.
